Bryn Davies

image Bryn Davies is the Director of Union Pension Services Ltd, a unique independent consultancy on occupational pension schemes, primarily for trade unions. Most trade unions have used his services at some stage since UPS was established in 1989 and a number retain his services on a regular basis.

Projects have also been carried out for non-trade unions clients, including the Equal Opportunities Commission, the National Audit Commission and in Central Europe for the PHARE programme.

From 1985 to 1989 he was a Research Actuary, then a Partner, at Bacon & Woodrow, Consulting Actuaries.

From 1980 to 1985 he was an elected member of the Greater London Council, representing the Vauxhall Constituency on behalf of the Labour Party. From 1981 to 1983 he was the Leader of the Inner London Education Authority.

From 1974 to 1981 he was Pensions Officer at the Trades Union Congress, advising on occupational and State pensions and responsible for the development and implementation of Congress policy.

He has been a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries since 1974.

1984- Director, Pensions & Investment Research Consultants Ltd. (PIRC)
1995- Treasurer, European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions
1996-97 Special Advisor, House of Commons Social Security Committee
